Using the oldest sections of the Appalachian Trail, summit the infamous Bear Mountain with views of the Hudson River, the Highlands, and the Bear Mountain Bridge. The route makes a moderate-to-steep ascent over rock outcrops at times. The trail levels out near the summit, and makes a gradual descent down the Appalachian Trail.
