[EASY-MODERATE] Storm King is a historically significant mountain located on the west side of a gigantic gorge on the Hudson River. Its highest point -- Butter Hill -- has outstanding views of Crow’s Nest Mountain, Bull Hill, Route 9W, and Schunemunk Mountain. Storm King itself features a north-facing lookout that opens up to Breakneck Ridge, Mount Beacon, the Shawangunk Ridge, and the Catskills. The climb up Butter Hill will ascend a steep, rocky scramble. This is followed by rolling terrain to Storm King. The group will use an old, Revolutionary War route to return to Route 9W.
