Guardians of the Highlands II

Distance: 15 + miles

Time: 8.5 hours

The southern gate of the Hudson Highlands is formed by a series of peaks within Bear Mountain State Park -- Cat’s Elbow, Dunderberg Mountain, West Mountain, The Timp, and Bear Mountain. This rugged, 15-mile route will cover them all, leading to many of the most notable scenes in the area.

We aren't looking to take a stroll - this will be tough! We will be moving at a quick pace over rugged terrain for a long distance and will take infrequent breaks. We encourage only hikers who are physically prepared to complete this hike under these conditions register. Sturdy footwear and appropriate outdoor attire required. Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks. We will hike rain or shine barring extraordinarily dangerous conditions such as lightning, hurricane, etc.
