Guardians of the Highlands IV

Difficulty: Very Hard

Distance: Approx. 15 miles / 3900 ft gain

Time: 8.5 hours walk-time

*** This event is part of the Strenuous Series and is meant for indivduals with advanced physical and mental capability and is designed to be extremely difficult. We will be moving at a fast pace over rugged terrain for long distances, forgoing breaks and moving quickly. Upon completion of the full route, participants will be awarded a Strenuous Series Spring Patch. ***

[VERY HARD] The southern gate of the Hudson Highlands is formed by a series of peaks within Bear Mountain State Park -- Cat’s Elbow, Dunderberg Mountain, West Mountain, The Timp, and Bear Mountain. A rugged route will cover them all, leading to many of the most notable scenes in the area.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the execution of this event may be altered to preserve the health and safety of all involved. As new information is made available we my choose to change the time, location, route, capacity, social distancing guidelines, required PPE, etc. Any alterations will be communicated to registrants via email and social media. Our waiver has been updated to include language acknowledging the possible health risk that is presented by congregating amidst a global pandemic. Following the most recent recommendations from health officials and state governments, we will include particular safety guidelines for each event in the final email sent to registrants prior to the event.
