High Tor

Distance: Approx. 5 miles / 860 ft gain

Time: 3.5 hours walk-time

[MODERATE] High Tor offers outstanding views of the Hudson River, the Hudson Highlands to the north, and the town of Haverstraw below. Its vantage point made it an ideal location for Revolutionary War-era beacons and an air raid watch during World War II.

Sturdy footwear and appropriate outdoor attire required. Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks. We will hike rain or shine barring extraordinarily dangerous conditions such as lightning, hurricane, blizzard etc.
