Horse Pond Mountain

Difficulty: EASY

Distance: 3 miles/600 ft gain

Time: 2.5 hours walk-time

[EASY] The panoramic ledge on Horse Pond Mountain overlooks Monks Mountain and Monksville Reservoir, with the rest of the Highlands fading into Downstate New York. After visiting the isolated Sunset Pond, the route will contain abbreviated uphills with one minor scramble.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the execution of this event may be altered to preserve the health and safety of all involved. As new information is made available we my choose to change the time, location, route, capacity, social distancing guidelines, required PPE, etc. Any alterations will be communicated to registrants via email and social media. Our waiver has been updated to include language acknowledging the possible health risk that is presented by congregating amidst a global pandemic. Following the most recent recommendations from health officials and state governments, we will include particular safety guidelines for each event in the final email sent to registrants prior to the event.
