Ilgenstein Rock

Distance: Approx. 7.5 miles / 1500 ft gain

Time: 5 hours walk-time

[MODERATE] This trip from the Valley into the Ramapo Mountains passes several bodies of water on the way to Ilgenstein Rock. Together with the Monroe Ridge Overlook, it will add a measure of intensity to a route that generally features gentle elevation change.

Students or staff of Ramapo College are encouraged to register for this event and will receive a lifetime 20% discount on PROACTIVE memberships if they attend. Sturdy footwear and appropriate outdoor attire required. Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks. We will hike rain or shine barring extraordinarily dangerous conditions such as lightning, hurricane, blizzard etc.
