Sunrise Mountain & the Tower Trail

Difficulty: EASY>MODERATE

Distance: Approx. 7 miles / 650 ft gain

Goal Time: 3 hours

Stokes State Forest is known more for its great trails and less for its epic views -- however, there are two views very well worth seeing in the park. Sunrise Mountain offers sweeping views from a grand pavilion and a short distance away, you'll find a fire tower along the Appalachian Trail with an arguably even better view.
