Western Wind Gate

Distance: Approx. 6 miles

Time: 4 hours

The Western Wind Gate tackles nearly all of Storm King State Park, with a route that covers North Ridge, North Point, Storm King Mountain, and Butter Hill (the park’s highest point). Over 2,200 feet of elevation gain will reward the participant with several outstanding views of the surrounding Highlands, with the opportunity to view the Shawangunk Ridge and Catskill Mountains under ideal conditions.

Sturdy footwear and appropriate outdoor attire required. Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks. We will hike rain or shine barring extraordinarily dangerous conditions such as lightning, hurricane, blizzard etc.
